The King’s Mane

With the Miami Heat’s impressive run through the playoffs and into the NBA Finals, LeBron James is once again in the forefront of the league, but what has become more apparent lately is his forehead.

For many years, LeBron has been dealing with the early stages of a receding hairline and it has been reported that he actually wears a headband in an attempt to cover it.  As an athlete in the public eye, his image is quite crucial in marketing his many product lines.  Many individuals tend to stereotype people who are bald or balding, feeling that they are less athletic and don't take care of themselves.  As a professional athlete these are the most vital elements that you want to positively convey to the public.  I mean who wants to buy sneakers from someone with the hairline of George Costanza?

According to a friend of his, LeBron is quite conscious about the issue and actually worries about it quite regularly.  Hair loss is an emotionally difficult process that affects about two-thirds of all men by the age of 35, and the statistics only increase with age.

Whatever “decision” LeBron makes about his hair loss in the coming years, it is an emotionally difficult issue that many men experience.
